The Southern Sporades

The name Southern Sporades is used for about 170 (30 inhabited) island along the turkish coast of eastern anatolia. The more commone name for the islands is "Dodecanese" although this name does not include all of the islands which belong to the Southern Sporades*. See also: Sporades.

*Wikipedia.org on the other hand states something differrent: "The Southern Sporades are the islands situated between the islands group of the Cyclades and Turkey. They correspond to the Dodecanese plus a few northern islands (especially Samos and Ikaria). Also included by some geographers are the islands of Chios and Lesbos. "
