The Island of Milos english
The Greek Island of Milos is situated in the aegaen sea and belongs to the group of cycladic islands. It lies half way on the route from Athens to Crete. Milos covers about 150 square kilometers. About 4700 inhabitants live continuously on the island. Plaka is the islands main village. It is just above the harbour village of Adamas. Tripiti, Triovassalos and Pollonia are other villages of the Milos. There is a daily ferry going from Pollonia to the small neighbour island of Kimolos.

On Milos you will find the "Syrmata" which are houses built right on the waterline. There are garages on the ground floor with very colorful doors. The greek use them during the winter season to keep their fishing boats save. These colorful houses are especially nice at the villages of Klima and Mandraki where there are many of them. Milos too is the place where the world famous statue "Venus of Milos" has been found. It is stored at the "Louvre" in Paris. At the aerchological museum of Milos though, you can see a copy of it.
